The Campus Ministry office provides an open and safe place for students and faculty to find comfort and a listening ear. It is a private and quiet environment for the school community to de-stress from the day-to-day pressures or to find support for major crisis that occur during the school year.
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! Psalm 95:2
You're my place of quiet retreat; I wait for your Word to renew me. Psalm 119:114
The faculty retreat is held in August before the official start of the school year. It is an opportunity for the entire staff to gather together in prayer, reflection, and dedication for our students and for the success of the school year.
Student retreats
Class retreats are held annually for each grade level.
The TAU Cross is a symbol of peace much beloved by St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of this Campus Ministry Club. As members of TAU, students are encouraged to implement the Catholic Philosophy through meetings, prayer, and action. Together with the Campus Minister they will come to understand their call to be truly alive in Christ. Our Faith in Action is lived through many community endeavors including:
A major focus of Bishop Brady's mission is the tenet of service. In fulfilling this, Brady requires a service component in the Theology Curriculum that seeks to establish a habit of service and an experience of a conversion of heart in giving of ourselves to others. A successful program allows the volunteer to connect with the people he or she serves and to understand the purpose and need for giving of ourselves. All service should be personal and should emphasize the preferential option for the poor and vulnerable. These principles are inherent to the Gospel:
Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, "I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."… The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
To learn more about Brady's service requirement, please open the 2022-2023 Service Handbook found in the right column of this webpage.
Bishop Brady High School is returning to a 25-hour requirement for the 2022-2023 year. Summer service needs to be approved in advance by Mr. Bergeron.
Please email him details of your planned service and await his approval to begin.
Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you. Deuteronomy 16: 17
Community service is an integral part of the Bishop Brady vision. We have many service opportunities for our students. Community leaders are encouraged to contact the Campus Minister if they are in need of volunteers. Because we are called by Jesus to serve, our students provide thousands of service hours at a variety of community based organizations as well as initializing spontaneous service in times of unexpected need.
This is a special project that Bishop Brady has supported for many years. Parents, students and faculty/staff undertake this service program which provides Christmas gifts to 130 underprivileged children from the State of New Hampshire. Brady works in collaboration with the State of New Hampshire Employees Union.
All students are required to complete 100 hours of community service throughout their four years at Bishop Brady High School. Further details about this can be found in the Student/Parent Handbook and Program of Studies. Their work is encapsulated in a portfolio.
Each year, the Brady community sponsors a food drive that supplies 20-25 food baskets for families in our immediate need based neighborhood. This program is a favorite of the students because they can see the fruits of their labor from the inset of collecting food, assembling the baskets, and the actual delivery to the families.
